Central African Republic tours

As one of the least visited countries of Africa, the Central African Republic or CAR is sure to bring you on an off-the-beaten path experience where you shouldn’t see any tourists. With the security situation improving as time go by, it is certain that the country will progressively appear on more and more travellers’ radars.

At the current time, Young Pioneer Tour organise Bespoke tours to C.A.R.

Getting in Central African Republic

To get to the country safely, there are currently two choices. First, you can cross from Cameroon across the Kadei river and do some activities related to the nearby national parks. Secondly, you can fly into the capital, Bangui.

Getting around Central African Republic

The infrastructure of the CAR are minimal. As such, most travel within the country involves a domestic flight. Young Pioneer Tours can assist you in booking those flights.

Things to do in Central African Republic

Dzangha-Sangha National Park

The National Park of Dzanga-Sangha is CAR number one destination for nature-lovers. In fact, it might well be one of the most interesting wildlife site of Africa, albeit a very underrated one. Located by the border of Cameroon and Congo in the southern part of the country, the protected areas of Dzanga-Sangha are well renowned for their western lowland gorillas and forest elephants.

The park is administrated directly by the WWF and has some very well organised and clean lodges available for tourists such as the Doli Lodge. To reach the park, it will be necessary to charter a flight from Bangui, which is not as expensive as it sounds! There is also a weekly flight available.

No Tours to show.

Pigmy village tour

While the neighbouring country of South Sudan hosts the world’s tallest ethnicity, the Dinkas, CAR is known for having the world’s shortest ethnicity, the Aka or Pygmy peoples. Located in the western and southern forested regions of the country, some of the Pygmy tribes welcome visitors and it is possible for us to organise visit and stays amongst the people.

Tours of Bangui

For those who are short on time or on a budget, Young Pioneer Tours can organise accommodation and tour guides in Bangui. During this tour, of 1 to 3 days, we will take you around the main sights of the boomtown of Central African Republic. Also, for those on a longer project in Africa necessitating complicated visas, some embassies in Central African Republic offer much easier processes to acquire visas for African countries such as Equatorial Guinea.

At YPT we can be very pedantic about what counts as a country BUT in the interests of this article we are talking about genuinely fake countries as in invented by movies or the like We have though also only included ones that YPT would actually go to who sorry Princess Diaries but you do not get a look inTo read about what counts as a country click hereRepublic of WadiyaThe king of fake countries and number one on our list as it has an uncanny resemblances to what we think Libya might have been like under Gaddafi And who could not be amused having Sacha BaronCohen as your head of stateLocation North AfricaKrakozhaWe asume this is a replica and formerly part of the USSR but this is never specially said in the movieThe homeland of the protagonist Victor AKA Tom Hanks the story was inspired by the real life of Mehran Karim Wed love to add this postSoviet shithole to our Eastern European toursnbspTo read about Meran Kerma click hereLocation former USSRKingdom of Wakandavery fake countriesThe least realistic of the fake countries and also probably the worst Why dont these guys share their technology with the rest of Africa Sadly the only real compatible country in real life is Ethiopia as in not colonised but that is where the similarity endsTo read about our Horn of Africa tour click hereLocation AfricaThe Dominion of MelchizedekA wildcard entry as this has never been in a movie although perhaps it should be An absolute scam of a place they claim and everywhere but alas own nothing S9me great quotes about the place but do not givee them any moneynbspLocation Pacific IslandsPassport to PimlicoThe original fake country movie and perhaps the GOAT of the genre This is one of the few on the list you can actually visit as it is a part of genuine city that is London Location LondonZubriwkaA greta fake country but also confusing as the Movie is the Grand Budapest Hotel The country looks like the kind of dreary palace I would live to plan a winter YPT tour to but we do not know their government typeLocation Eastern Europe we thinkOceaniafake countries The famous main country from 1984 slightly authoritarian to say the least and would imagine getting visas here would be a bitch but hey thats what YPT doBonus Round Kingdom of North SudanA naive was never fadeout the place but Disney were actually interested at least ubtil the words colonialism and cultural appropriation were thrown into the mix And ib our experience too it seems the king is actually a bit of a dick which is not idealBut the best thing abviut Bir Tawil itself is that we can actually go here while trolling the King of Northern SudanYou can check out our Bur Tawil Incursion Tour here
