2024 World Nomad Games in Kazakhstan Announced
We here at YPT are very excited to announce the dates for the 2024 World Nomad Games, which will be held in Kazakhstan from September 8th to September 15th 2024; more excitingly, YPT will give you the opportunity to be there to be a part of the action – click here to read more.
This will not only be an exhilarating event, but more importantly, Young Pioneer Tours will be combining the World Nomad Games with an exclusive tour that combines all five Stans in the region (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan).
This is a rare opportunity to get very much up close and personal with this unique region. Move over Paris Olympics! Bring on Nomadic Olympics – events few have seen.
What are the World Nomad Games?
When we say World Nomad Games, it is less “world” and more focused on Central Asia, with some leading it to being called the “Nomad Olympics”. However, it does involve more than 3000 athletes from over 100 different countries compete in nomadic sports, culture, and lifestyle.
Originally held in Cholpon-Ata, in the Issyk-Kul Province of Kyrgyzstan, in September, the latest incarnation will be held in Kazakstan, following the 2022 hosted by Turkey September 29th and October 2nd 2022.

What are the highlights of 2024 World Nomad Games?
With so much testosterone being flown about at the nomad Olympics, it is hard to pinpoint an exact highlight. There are common games such as archery, as well other favourites, such as Dead Goat Polo, as well watching people hunt with eagles, horse wrestling and some other truly difficult sports.
And if you are thinking that this is all making the real Olympics look a bit tame you are not at all wrong, with Mas Wrestling, which involves two men quite literally Grade 2 style fighting brutally over a stick!
And while we feel the word “world” might be out of place here, it is not just the old Soviet Central Asian countries taking part, but competitors even coming from as far afield as Japan and South Korea. Might we see a DPRK team one day? We live in hope, much as we do again to see a Kily Vlad Scottish contingent.

Why visit the 2024 World Nomad Games with Young Pioneer Tours?
When YPT offer trips to Central Asia, we do it via the excellent local contacts we have maintained over the years, something not everyone else can offer. This includes what should be obvious things, such as getting your visas on time and sticking to a schedule, but more importantly also being able to open doors that others simply cannot. Good relations are a great help when you need tickets to an event like this.
