The 2025 TripAdvisor Travelers Choice Awards have been announced, with there being more than a view surprise entrants, at least from a Pioneer point of view.

Trip Advisor is considered the foremost travel review site, with ourselves at YPT having won an excellence award now for 12 years running. Therefore inclusion on one of their lists in considered quite the coup.

The Travelers Choice Awards 2025

The travelers choice awards contain numerous categories, with the Top Tourist Attractions in the World running alongside Top Experiences in the World, as well as many others. These include Top Bucket List Exoticness, Best Cultural & Historical Tours in the world, amusement marks and a number of United States centric ones.

The lists are created yearly and as well as tourists sites being honored service providers who receive good reviews are also honored such as ourselves at YPT

Top Attractions in the World 2025

Said award, which highlights tourist attractions, rather than individual companies was won, perhaps controversially by the Empire State Building, with the Eiffel Tower coming second.

Perhaps the most “Pioneer” of places was Angkor Wat, which surprisingly only managed a mere 12th place finish. Yet despite this it was considered enough of an honour to gain warrant a statement from former strongman Leader Hun Sen.

Top Experiences in the World 2025

Perhaps a slightly more interesting category, particular for YPT was the top experiences in the world list. This particular category from the 2025 TripAdvisor Travelers Choice Awards focuses on experiences provided by companies, rather than actual sites.

Therefore this list was a little bot more off the beaten track. Most interesting in the top ten (according to us at least) were the All-Inclusive Ubud Tour, Ubud, Indonesia, Small-Group Explore Angkor Wat Sunrise Tour with Guide from Siem Reap, Siem Reap , Cambodia, and the Full-Day Ninh Binh Highlights Tour from Hanoi, Hanoi, Vietnam

Technically this is a category YPT might qualify for, at least when North Korea reopens.
