Free travel to Pakistan with new eVisa scheme
As of August 2024, Pakistan released a free travel to Pakistan eVisa scheme which now allows 126 nationalities to apply for a “Visa Prior to Arrival.” This eVisa is completely free, and processed within 24 hours. Continue reading for more details.
Previously, there were only 64 countries that were eligible for the Pakistani eVisa – however, not only has this been expanded to more than a hundred nationalities, but this process has been massively simplified with the number of questions asked on the application being removed and the lengthy processing time has gone.

How to apply for the Pakistan eVisa?
Eligible travellers must complete an online form on the Pakistan eVisa portal and upload a copy of your passport, and a visa photo of yourself with a white background. You will need to state your hotel address of when you first arrive into Pakistan. If you are joining a YPT tour these details will be emailed to you prior to the tour commencing.
Once your eVisa is processed and approved, you’ll need to print a copy of this and show it before boarding your flight to Pakistan and on arrival to Pakistan immigration officers.
The eVisa will be valid for 90 days, so apply at any time within this time frame. It’s that simple!

What if my country isn’t on the Pakitsan eVisa list?
Let’s start with the good news. Six countries are not on the new eVisa scheme because they have been upgraded to visa-free entry. They are all Middle Eastern countries that belong to the GCC: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
For the rest of the world, you will need to apply for your Pakistani Visa as before, at your nearest embassy. Don’t worry, though, YPT will provide complete visa support and instructions to ensure you can join us on tour!
Please note that citizens of India and Israel are unable to visit Pakistan as tourists.
