Silk Screen Printing Siem Reap
Having accidentally been marooned in the city of Siem Reap, it has been a rough ride working out how to get simple things done, which is why I am glad I was introduced to Silk Screen Printing Lab in Siem Reap….
Before becoming coronavirus refugees (yes, it is that dramatic), the YPT team were semi-happily residents in China. Like anywhere, China has its pros and cons when it comes to living there, but one alright pro is with regards to the speed in getting something made.
China, as we have learned to our detriment over coronavirus, is the world’s manufacturing hub, and if you want something “made in China,” it can be done quickly and efficiently. Quality-wise can vary greatly, but the ends tend to justify the means. Alas, I was no longer in China. I was in Siem Reap, and I need to print t-shirts.
Where can you print t-shirts in Siem Reap?
You can print t-shirts at Silk Screen Printing Lab! Finding the location was really not that hard, as soon as I started to ask ex-pats, or even explore online they were not only the first but pretty much the only name that came up. I decided to pay them a visit.
Screen Printing
Again being used to just ordering t-shirts or even just going to a shop to have them made, I was not aware of the difference in quality you could have when printing t-shirts. The shit ones you buy at fares are printed from a machine, the good quality ones that last a long time are screen printed. I won’t go into great detail about what screen printing is, as well, it’s pretty boring. Just know if you want quality, it needs to be screen printed.
Silk Screen Printing Lab is a social enterprise
Many people believe that social enterprises are potentially the future of capitalism, we would not comment on any of that beatnik stuff, but Silk Screen Printing Lab does have a great story.
It is run as a social enterprise that gives work to the former street children of Siem Reap and extremely noble cause in a country that suffers from as much poverty as Cambodia does.
But most importantly, from a business point of view, their product is top-notch, which is why Young Pioneer Tours have partnered with the Silk Screen Printing Lab in Siem Reap.
